Commissioner of Head Police Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Interior visited Service for Foreigners’ Affairs

Mevludin Halilović, the Commissioner of Head Police Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Interior visited today the Service for Foreigners' Affairs and met with Director Slobodan Ujić. They discussed on current security situation related to increased influx and stay of migrants at the region of Canton Sarajevo.

Director of SFA represented the current situation to the Commissioner  Halilović  in regard with increased influx of migrants in BiH, thus it has been highlighted that over than 22 000 migrants has been the subject of work by SFA. He added that accommodation capacities for migrants are at the upper limit of occupancy, and that despite difficult circumstances the Service for Foreigners' Affairs along with other competent institutions is managing migration in BiH.

Director Ujić emphasized particularly good previous cooperation between Service and Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Interior wherein the assistence of police officers by the Sarajevo Canton was provided repeatedly during operative measures taking, and action by the SFA's competence.   The good cooperation resulted to good security situation, safety of citizens, and their property and very few number of committed offences and felonies by migrants.

It has been agreed the continuation of common activities, and providing operative support by the police officers of Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Interior to the Service for Foreigners' Affairs, in particular regarding the issues of public order services, and security at the region of whole canton with emphasis to the temporary admission center in Ušivak, and relocation of migrants who are at the public areas, squares, urban parts of city  at the admission centers.

At the end of meeting, Director Ujić thanked to the Commissioner Halilović and voiced confidence that successful copperation shall be continued in future as well.
