THE VISIT OF EUROPEAN MIGRATION LIASON OFFICER TO THE SERVICE FOR FOREIGNERS’ AFFAIRS

The Director of the Service for Foreigners' Affairs, Žarko Laketa met today with Richard Goldschmidt, the European Migration Liason Officer (EMLO) , officially stationed at the EU Delegation in Belgrade.

The focus of the conversation between Director Laketa and Mr. Goldschmidt was an overview of the current migration situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the activities that are being carried out in this period within the domain of work and competence of the Service for Foreigners' Affairs in the context of managing migration flows.

They also discussed illegal migration and the key challenges in this area, referring to the results that the SFA has achieved so far in combating irregular migration.

Director Laketa informed the EU Delegation that the Service for Foreigners' Affairs  is a strong and reliable state agency, ready to assume responsibility within its jurisdiction at any moment and perform its part of task efficiently.

At the end of the meeting, Director Laketa emphasized the importance of continued support of the EU to the Service for Foreigners' Affairs, expressing the expectation that BiH's progress on the way to the EU will be further intensified in the next period.
