Chief Prosecutor Milanko KajganiÄ has met with the Director of the Service for Foreigners' Affairs,
Žarko Laketa, on the premise of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The meeting discussed current topics pertaining to the work and competences of these law enforcement institutions, especially in the light of combating organized illegal migrations.
At the meeting, Director Laketa presented the situation with migrant flows in the past few months, during which time the number of migrants in Bosnia and Herzegovina was increased.
Given that a Section for Organized Crime and Trafficking in Persons exists within the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and works on a large number of cases in this area, Chief Prosecutor KajganiÄ highlighted the importance of good cooperation between partner institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina in detecting, preventing and prosecuting these types of criminal offences , and in particularly noted the importance of the work of the Service for Foreigners' Affairs, which is charge with registering foreign citizens residing in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as with their deportation, if they are residing illegaly in Bosnia and Herezegovina.
Partnership cooperation between the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Service for Foreigners' Affairs will be continued in the future period.
