The meeting between Director of the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs and Director of the Institute for Execution of Criminal Sanctions, Detention and other Measures of BiH

On 30 July 2024, the meeting between Director of the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs Mr. Žarko Laketa and Director of the Institute for Execution of Criminal Sanctions, Detention and Other Measures of BiH, Mr. Siniša Perković and his associates. The meeting was an opportunity for consideration of joint activities, and cooperation which was established last year by signing of agreement between these two institutions.

By the last year’s agreement, the Institute for Execution of Criminal sanctions, Detention and Other Measures of BiH agreed that, in case of crisis situation that require the evacuation of secret data, the records of the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs will be used as a backup copy. This agreement represents an important step in ensuring the continuity of work, and the protection of sensitive information, thus the readiness of both parties to continue this cooperation was confirmed.

In addition to considering the agreement, the topic of the meeting was the furnishing of the new floor of the Immigration Center of the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs.

Given to Institute’s many years of experience in equipping and managing security facilities, the advice of Director Perković was highly valued.

During the meeting, Director Laketa presented to Director Perković with the badge of the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs as a sign of gratitude for the cooperation and support so far. On the other hand, Director Perković handed Director Laketa a hand-made icon of St.John Baptist, made in workshop of the carving section of the Institute for Execution of Criminal Sanctions, Detention, and Other Measures of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

This meeting was one more step towards strengthening cooperation and improving security measures in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and both sides expressed optimism and commitment to common goals.
