The Director of the Service for Foreigners’ Afafirs, Žarko Laketa, hosted a delegation from the United Kingdom consisting of Jack Joseph, Deputy Director of the United Kingdom Border Service, and James Hamilton Harding, Deputy Ambassador of the British Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In an open and constructive conversation, special emphasis was placed on improving inter-institutional cooperation in the field of migration management and combating illegal migration.
The exchange of information on the activities of smuggling networks, migrant movement routes, as well as the importance of timely communication in order to strengthen capacities for identifying and preventing security risks was discussed.
The interlocutors also addressed current migration trends, emphasizing the importance of coordinated, and partnership-based action by the competent institutions in responding to contemporary challenges.
The Service for Foreigners’ Affairs remains committed to further strengthening international cooperation and improving institutional capacities, in order to maintain security and efficiently manage migration.
