Director of the Service for Foreigners' Affairs, Žarko Laketa, held a meeting with Steven Fields, Assistant Director of ICITAP (International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program) for Europe and Asia, a program operating within the United States Department of Justice.
During the meeting, the current situation in the area of illegal migration was discussed, with particular emphasis on migration flows in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as on the activities that the Service for Foreigners' Affairs is implementing with the aim of efficiently managing migration.
The participants exchanged opinions on the cooperation between the Service for Foreigners' Affairs and ICITAP to date, which was assessed as very successful. On that occasion, they also discussed the activities and projects that ICITAP plans to implement in the coming period, which are aimed at further improving capacities and institutional cooperation.
Director Laketa thanked ICITAP for its continued support to the SFA, emphasizing its importance for strengthening institutional capacities and further developing an efficient migration management system.
The participants expressed their commitment to continuing and further improving cooperation through the implementation of joint activities and projects in the coming period.
