Director of the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs, Žarko Laketa, received a visit on 18 March 2026 from the newly appointed Head of the International Organization, William David Womble.
During the meeting, key activities within the SFA’s responsibilities were discussed, with a special focus on the current migrant situation.
The meeting also provided an opportunity views on the response to migration challenges so far, as well as to jointly consider current needs and future priorities.
The importance of the long-standing partnership between SFA and IOM was emphasized, reflected through the implementation of numerous joint activities and projects, the provision of operational support, and the continuous strengthening of the SFA’s institutional capacities.
The participants expressed their commitment to continuing and further improving institutional cooperation in the coming period, with the aim of a more efficient and coordinated response to modern migration challenges.
