An EMPACT planning meeting was held on the topic ‘Labour Еxploitation’

On May 6, 2026, an EMPACT planning meeting on the topic of "Labor Exploitation" was held in Sarajevo, which brought together representatives of law enforcement agencies and labor inspectorates from several European countries, with the aim of improving international cooperation and strengthening a common response to human trafficking for the purpose of labor exploitation.

The leader of the action is the Swedish Police Administration, with co-leadership from the Service for Foreigners' Affairs  of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Spanish Civil Guard, the Dutch Labor Administration, with support from EUROPOL and the European Labor Agency (ELA).

Keynote addresses were given by Almin Imamović, Deputy Director of the Service for Foreigners' Affairs, and Ronja Walett, Activity Leader and National Coordinator for Combating Crime in labour from Kingdom of Sweden, which laid the foundation for focused and practical discussions.

The EU4FAST project, which continuously contributes to strengthening regional and international cooperation in the field of migration and security, also provided support for the organization and implementation of activities.

The goal of the meeting is the exchange of information on new ways of acting and analytical approaches, as a strengthening of joint responses to human trafficking for the purpose of labor exploitation, along with the improvement of international operational cooperation and coordinated action of competent institutions.
