Today, the working meeting of UNHCR representatives and the Director of the Service for Foreigners' Affairs was held.
The UNHCR delegation and Director Žarko Laketa met today in the premises of the Service for Foreigners' Affairs, and they discussed the activities during the meeting carried out in the joint project entitled: "Facilitating early identification and registration of persons in need of international protection".
UNHCR and the Service for Foreigners' Affairs signed a Partnership Agreement for a period of one year; 01 January 2023 until 31 December 2023, and at today's meeting, the extension of the agreement for the following year was also discussed.
Director Laketa also highlighted the experiences in the work so far through the mentioned project, as well as the significance of the project for the Service for Foreigners' Affairs.
He pointed out the importance of cooperation with UNHCR, and their active participation in the already mentioned project, all with the aim of improving the situation during the early identification and registration of persons in need of protection.
