Director of the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs, Mr. Žarko Laketa, Director of the BiH Border Police, Mr. Mirko Kuprešaković, members of the BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the BiH Ministry of Security, together with their associates, stayed in Sweden during a three-day study visit. This visit was part of the visa capacity building project in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the aim of improving cooperation between institutions, and better understanding of the visa management process.
During the visit, the participants visited the Swedish Migration Agency (SMA) and attended meetings in government offices. The participants had the opportunity to get familiar with the work of the department for digitization and verification of documents, and to attend practical sessions on the processing of visa applications.
Key aspects of the visit included familiarization with identity and document verification work, a visit to the SMA headquarters in Norrköping, and discussions on the implementation of the migration pact and the European Asylum System.
This visit enabled the acquisition of important knowledge and experience that will significantly improve the visa capacity of BiH, contributing to more efficient migration management, and strengthening cooperation with international institutions.
