Improving cooperation between the Service for Foreigners' Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex) was the focus of the meeting between Director \u017darko Laketa and Frontex Executive Director Hans Leijtens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the talks, current migration challenges, the implementation of the new European Union Pact on Migration and Asylum, and the importance of operational cooperation in strengthening the migration management system and border security were discussed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Director Laketa emphasized that the Service for Foreigners' Affairs remains strongly committed to developing partnership relations with Frontex through joint activities, exchange of information, professional training and strengthening of operational capacities, and thanked them for their support and cooperation so far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Frontex delegation also visited the office premises that the Service for Foreigners' Affairs provided for the use of this agency to support its activities in Bosnia and Herzegovina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting confirmed the joint commitment to further strengthening cooperation and a more efficient response to migration challenges in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
