On 9 October 2024, a meeting was held between the Director of the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs, Mr. Žarko Laketa, and the Minister for Human Rights and Refugees in BiH , Mr. Sevlid Hurtić.
At the meeting, the current migration flows in Bosnia and Herzegovina were discussed. Minister Hurtić was informed about the current capacities and conditions in the Temporary Reception Centers, which are ready to provide the necessary assistance to migrants.
Also, it was emphasized the special focus of the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs on the protection of vulnerable groups, including asylum seekers. The cooperation between the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees and the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs was assessed as crucial in joint efforts to manage the migrant situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
