A delegation of the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, led by Director Žarko Laketa, together with representatives of the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the BiH Border Police, and International Migration Organization (IOM), paid an official visit to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia. On that occasion, the delegation of the Bosnia and Herzegovina had the opportunity to talk with the Head of the Border Police Administration, Mr. Dragan Samolovac, and his associates. The visit was realized within the framework of the project ‘Instrument building capacities for readmission in the Western Balkans’ (WBCAP), financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Denmark.
During the meeting, key aspects of bilateral cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Serbia were discussed, with special emphasis on the implementation of the Readmission Agreement. The participants agreed that this agreement represents an important instrument in joint action against illegal migration, and contributes to strengthening border security. Also, opinions and experiences related to activities and challenges related to the implementation of the agreement were exchanged.
This visit represents the continuation of the successful cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Republic of Serbia in the field of migration and security, and confirms the commitment of both parties to the improvement of mutual relations, and the successful implementation of the WBCAP project.
