Under the project āInstrument for building capacity for readmission in the Western Balkansā (WBCAP),a delegation of the Service for Foreignersā Affairs, led by Director, Mr. Žarko Laketa, together with representatives of the Ministry of Security of BiH, the Border Police of BiH, and the International Migration Organization (IOM) , visited the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration of Republic of Serbia.
During the meeting with representatives of the Commissariat, experiences were exchanged about the conditions in the reception centers, the method of registering migrants, as well as the procedures for submitting a request for asylum.
The delegation had the opportunity to visit the reception centers for migrants, and asylum seekers in Padinska Skela and KrnjaÄa, where they got acquainted with the management models of such accommodation facilities in the Republic of Serbia. This visit provided insight into practices that can serve as an example for capacity building, and optimization of migrant accommodation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
As a conclusion, it was pointed out that Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia are working together to ensure the protection of the rights of all migrants, especially vulnerable categories. These activities represent a significant step in strengthening regional cooperation.
