Meeting held on the next steps in managing Temporary Reception Center Lipa

A meeting was held on the premises of the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs with all relevant local and international partners with the aim of discussing the next steps regarding the operation of Temporary Reception Center Lipa in Bihać.

The meeting was jointly led by the Director of the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs, Mr. Žarko Laketa, and Deputy Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Ivica Bošnjak.

During the meeting, discussions were held on the available options and the need to establish a coordinated approach to managing the center Lipa, in accordance with the applicable legislation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and international obligations the state has undertaken in the field of migration and human rights.

The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Delegation of the European Union of BiH, the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the International Center for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), as well as representatives of the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs.

The Service for Foreigners’ Affairs remains committed to constructive cooperation with all relevant institutions and partners, in order to ensure the effective migration management, and protection-sensitive approach towards all users of the center.
