The Service for Foreigners' Affairs continues with intensive operational activities
The Service for Foreigners' Affairs continues to conduct operational activities aimed at controlling the illegal stay of foreigners on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
After the successful operational action in one location yesterday, a new action was carried out in the Municipality of Stari Grad, Sarajevo, on 24 June,2025, with the assistance of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton. The activities were aimed at controlling the movement and residence of migrants with the aim of relocating them from illegal accommodation to temporary reception centers.
A total of 45 foreign nationals were found illegally staying in private properties at the location on Mihrivode Street. These are migrants originating from Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka and China.
The Service for Foreigners' Affairs, acting in accordance with the law, relocated migrants to the Temporary Reception Centers Blažuj and Ušivak, where they were identified and registered, and all necessary conditions were provided for them.
Appropriate misdemeanor measures will be initiated against citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina who illegally provided accommodation services to migrants, without proper registration and legal reporting.
The Service for Foreigners' Affairs remains committed to the legal and responsible management of migration, and will continue with intensive operational activities in the field in the coming period, in cooperation with other competent institutions.
