The U.S. Government donated to Service for Foreigners’ Affairs equipment for the safe and secure storage of weapons

A handover ceremony was held at the premises of the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs for the equipment donated by the United States as part of the U.S. Department of Justice International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program (ICITAP).

The donation includes a total of 192 weapon storage safes for personal weapon, of which 85 large and 107 small, total value of 9.421,77 United States dollar.

On behalf of the Service for Foreigners' Affairs, the handover was attended by Director Žarko Laketa and Head of the Administration Sector, Edin Huskić, while on behalf of the US Embassy in Sarajevo, Tyler Truby, Regional Counterterrorism Attaché, Michael Hall Regional Counterterrorism Advisor, and Darko Ivić, Senior Project Specialist.

Director of the Service for Foreigners' Affairs, Mr. Žarko Laketa, expressed his gratitude for this valuable donation, emphasizing that it represents a significant contribution to the improvement of the SFA’s security standards, as it enables safe and proper storage of weapons, in accordance with legal regulations and modern security standards.

The Service for Foreigners' Affairs will continue its activities in the coming period, focused on further modernization, strengthening institutional capacities and improving cooperation with relevant international organization and institutions.
