ILLEGAL STAY OF FOREIGNERS DETECTED IN THE MUNICIPALITY AREA OF NOVI GRAD

Inspectors of the Service for Foreigners' Affairs in cooperation with police officers of the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of the Interior, conducted operational activities in the evening hours on 30 October 2025, aimed at controlling the movement and stay of foreigners in the area of ​​the Municipality Novi Grad in Sarajevo .

On that occasion, 35 persons were found at the inspected location who were illegally staying in a private facility, and these were citizens of Bangladesh, Pakistan, Ghana and Afghanistan.

Upon the conducted activities, the persons were transferred to the Temporary Reception Center BlaĹľuj and Ušivak, where their identification and registration were carried out, and  all necessary conditions for stay were provided for them.. During the control, about 100 travel documents and identification documents were found, including documents of citizens of Bangladesh, Nepal, India and other countries. The State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) was informed about the incident and  will take further measures and actions within its jurisdiction

The Service for Foreigners' Affairs will continue to carry out operational activities in the coming period with the aim of controlling the illegal stay of foreigners on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
