At the Inter-Ministerial Conference "Labor Migration within the CEI: Regular Pathways and Sustainablem Labor Markets", held in Belgrade, the Service for Foreigners' Affairs was an active participant through the participation of Director Žarko Laketa in the panel discussion.
The conference was opened by:
- Ivica Dačić, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic Serbia,
- Milica Đurđević Stamenkovski, Minsiter of Labor, Emplyoment and Social Afafirs of the Republic of Serbia,
- Zejnal Hadžijev, Head of Mission of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Serbia.
Director Laketa presented the practice and experiences of the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs in the areas of temporary residence permit approval procedures and risk management in migration processes.
He particularly emphasized that inter-institutional cooperation, harmonization of procedures with European standards and continuous strengthening of the SFA's capacities that are the foundation of a stable, safe and predictable migration system.
In a time of dynamic developments in the labor market, technological changes and demographic challenges, Bosnia and Herzegovina - as well as the countries of the region - must develop policies that enable legal, safe and inclusive migration flows, while at the same time protecting the stability of domestic labor market and workers’ rights.
